Hello, we are a family of four. Over the past two year and a half, we have been struggling to keep up with medical bills. All the bills are due to a major back surgery and emergency surgery for my wife and three emergency hospital stays for my 9 year old son. This all started with my son with getting sick and throwing up for no reason at all for the first time. He couldn’t keep anything down for about four days, My wife finally took him to the Children’s Hospital where we lived. They admitted him in the hospital. He was there for about a week. After they released him from the hospital, he got sick again six months later with the same symptoms. He got brought back to the hospital and was admitted again. The doctors did multiple tests to try to figure out what was wrong. Finally, they told us that our son had Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. They said that with this syndrome he won’t have any fevers or any signs of him contiguous at all. But that he will just start throwing up for no reason. They put him on a medicine that he will have to stay on pretty much forever. The medicine helps control his Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. So after he was finally released from the hospital for the second time, my wife started having leg and back pain about three months later. We went to a company called OrthoNeuro for her leg and back pain. She had to get a back brace from her doctor, after being told that she had a pinched nerve between her L4 and L5. The doctor had put her on pain medication and sent her to physical therapy. But both of them didn’t help her at all. About four months later, my wife had to get am epidermal injection in her lower back. The injection only helped for two days, then went back to having pain again. Also, during everything up to this point, my wife was dealing with kidney stones issues. She had an emergency surgery and another schedule surgery for her kidney stones issues. Anyways, back to her lower back pain situation. After the epidermal injection didn’t work, the doctor decided on back surgery for her. They did an x-ray to see how bad her L4 and L5 were since her pain was worse. The x-ray showed more damages than just a pinched nerve. Her L4 was fractured/broken on both sides. So a couple months later, she had her major back surgery. Then everything was fine for a couple more months or so. Right before my wife was released for her doctor from her back surgery, she had to have an emergency surgery on her stomach area. She was in pain and couldn’t get any relief. The doctors saw something on a CT scan, that they took of her, that may of needed an immediate attention. After the surgery, she had to stay in the hospital for a couple of days. Then a month later, our son ended back up in the hospital for his Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. Our son’s psychiatric took him off the medicine that helps prevent his Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. Then the doctors at the hospital put him back on the medicine and told us to not take him off of it, Then a few days later, he was released from the hospital to go home. So as you can see, we are struggling with paying and keeping up with our medical bills and other bills because of all our emergency medical situations. If you can help us at all, we would greatly appreciate it so much. Thank you!
