For the past few months, I have been struggling with health conditions that don’t seem to be in my control. Due to this fact, I’ve been to countless specialists to try and fix such problems. No specialist has pinpointed a problem yet, but the bills are piling up. Current problems include:
- Chronic Pain
- Inability to eat most solid food (stomach issues, vomiting)
- Recurring infections from unknown sources and for unknown reasons.
Chronic Pain: a more recent development in my medical chronicles. Was rushed to the ER a little over a month ago when I felt like I was being stabbed. It wasn’t a cramp and the EMS thought it was a blood clot. They never figured it out and the pain could happen anywhere now, typically accompanied by inflamation.
Inability to eat most solid food: For roughly the same amount of time as the previous condition, I can not eat solid food. My GP has me on a very limited diet and it’s just enough to keep me going.
Recurring Infections: Skin infections of both my hands and torso recur despite topical anti-fungal and anti-biotic medications. Dermatologists making it very difficult. Been there three times and still no biopsy, despite me requesting one.
I still plan to go to other specialists, as my GP has instructed me to do so. I’ve been to a dermatologist who didn’t seem to care, which I return to soon. Recently got an ultrasound on my liver and entire lower abdomen, insurance covered a total $200, left me with the $400 bill. More bills are almost certainly coming when I soon see my allergist for the third time, and a rheumatologist for the first time. Let’s not forget the hospital bills I had due back in May because of a leg pain and dry heaving attack that happened a little over a month ago. Two hospital bills, in fact.
I am currently slumped. Working for my father is not making me enough money to pay rent to my grandfather, keep up with upcoming and overdue bills, and afford food. My father and I do construction contracting, by the way.
Usually, I would request assistance from my mother, but she is currently renovating a destroyed kitchen and cannot help me with this upcoming bill (me and her also had a falling-out recently), and I could really use relief. It’s not a big bill, but one that has to be paid for nonetheless. There is nothing I can do about. I’m very stressed and getting help paying this one bill will take some of the burden off my shoulders.
