Hello my name is Marvin and I need eye surgery on my right eye that will remove a cataract. 29 years now, I have only been able to see out of my left eye due to a childhood accident that left me partially blind.
At 38 years old, I have struggled through life due to a cataract that left me with vision only in one eye. My education and learning has suffered as a result of mental overload from straining the left eye.
For years I was unaware why, the veins in my eyes turned red and constant headaches were due to the cataract till the eye tests in 2019.
At university a foundation degree in aeronautical engineering was what I only managed to achieve. Recently computer programming is what I started retaining in, I like solving challenges and the employment. But my eyes start to sting and make it difficult to focus on a computer screen for a prolonged time.
Survey will restore my eyesight by removing and replacing the cataract with a new lens implanting, from the recent medical assessment and referral.
Unfortunately I can’t afford this urgent £5,000 surgery on my financial credit due to my wild child older sister Yvonne, as woke up to owing £35,000 in parking fine debts.
January 2021 Yvonne my older sister asked me for help in buying a car on my financial credit, to which I was reluctantly to decline mainly due to their past character being inattentive.
Weeks later I agreed and bought her car using my financial credit, for as long as she made the monthly payments and all matters of the car were dealt with. The idea of helping Yvonne a single parent with 2 boys obtain a car to help with daily life and getting to work, may have persuaded me to help.
Months after getting the car letters continued to accumulate despite having repeatedly asked Yvonne to deal with the matter. Choosing not interfering in a her life was my thought at that time out of respect. £35,000 in 205 parking tickets is the result of her inattentiveness to deal with an important matter over the course of two and a half years. Question, To which point does an individual take payment communication letters seriously instead of the celebrity party scene?
At that time I recall hearing “Marvin don’t worry, that company issues tickets to everyone” and told she was on the so called waiting list for a parking permit at her residence. Knowing that I felt no reason to distrust Yvonne, so back then I continued trusting her. Today 2023 yes I feel naive, stupid and betrayed as I once deeply trusted my older sister Yvonne. To know the person changed in two years after I agreed to help her hurts (Did I make a mistake? The thought repeats in my mind). I no longer feel angry just sad and tired as I continue to receive more court letter asking for payments.
Today 2023 November its as bad as our mother helping Yvonne make payments, her avoiding my phone calls and letters from the court demanding repayments totalling a shocking £35,000 all in parking fines.
Looking to the new year 2024 were I aim to let go of the past and move on with my life, currently I ask all kind individuals for help in my challenging time.
The urgent £5,000 eye surgery will restore my eyesight after 29 years which will help me complete retraining and gain employment in passion computer programming.
Planned at Moorfields eye hospital where the full costs of onward treatment will be £3,175 which includes a standard lens and one post operative appointment. Fees for the initial consultation are charged at £225 and the £1,600 towards additional costs for cataract surgery aftercare as required and off work recovery duration.
Donations will help me get life changing cataract eye surgery, improve further and help me & my mother put the debt behind us.
