I am fundraising for the use of a technological device that increases the hand mobility lost due to a 2021 stroke. The four months I used the therapy, there was a measurable increase in motion and strength allowing me to go from not being able to use my left hand to be able to open up a bag of chips, had more dexterity in my fingers, and the swelling and pain decreased significantly.
I am being considered for the Governor’s Advisory Board for Certified Counselors and Hypnotherapists in Washington State. In this voluntary position, I will need to be able to type and communicate with the Board. Having the use of my hand will increase my independence and ability to respond in real-time and not have to wait for assistance to type my answers.
From the website: “The device is connected to a pneumatic actuator -air pump- that assists the user when necessary. The stroke rehabilitation technology tracks movement activity during therapy and provides assistance when the user is struggling to finish a complete movement.”
The monitor connects to the device displays games that provide the user with an interactive way to do therapy. The Motus AI tracks and monitors user rehabilitation progress and automatically adjusts the level of assistance and resistance based on productivity. See Figure 1.

These funds will go directly to only FDA Class 1 at-home stroke rehab robotic in the world with active assistance, the Motus Nova company (Motusnova.com) for the stroke rehab recovery device. A clinical study on brain rehabilitation proved that a more frequent therapy will result in faster efficient hand use results. By using neuroplasticity therapy to retrain the brain, will leverage” the ability of neural networks in the brain to change through growth and reorganization” (Motus Nova, 2022). Chief findings in the clinical studies have proven to reduce the cost of stroke rehabilitation by 55-60% to the healthcare industry.
