Hello, my name is Patrick Jen. I have a deafness disability, I was not born with the disability rather it happened gradually sometimes around my mid-teens. I can’t remember exactly what led to my disability but I can remember that I began to lose my hearing ability some months after I was hospitalized for an illness.
Prior to falling sick, I had just lost my dad and we were back from the funeral. Some weeks later I fall sick in the morning, my tooth became clamped tight together the upper and lower jaw. And my siblings had to use table spoon to separate my jaws. My mum rushed me to the hospital and I was admitted. I spent some weeks on hospital bed undergoing treatment, after the doctor certified that I was doing okay and I can go home, I was discharged from the hospital. I went back home and continued my full recovery.
Few months later my mum was issued an eviction notice to leave the house, because our dad has been paying the rent, and she was jobless while he was alive. And now she is unable to keep paying the rent. We left the house and moved into a low-income house before we will be able to renovate an old house that our dad left behind.
It was while we are staying in the low-income house that I began to lose my hearing ability. It felt as if there is water in my ears. My siblings took offence because they thought I was deliberately ignoring them whenever they call me, not knowing that I actually can’t hear what they are saying. I explained to my mum that I truly can’t hear and she took me to the hospital, I was checked and some drugs were prescribed for me to use. I began to use the drugs and I got some relief from the hearing loss. But unfortunately the drugs finished and I was unable to buy more and sustain the treatment because we are poor and there is no one to help.
As a result of lack of treatment, the hearing loss returned and persisted. Now I can’t hear the human voice without a hearing aid, I can only hear very loud noise.
Please I need help of $10000 to enable me seek treatment and purchase the necessary drugs, so that I can go back to school and complete my education. Thank you very much for your generosity as you help me out with the little you can.
