I am 27 years old and I have recently been diagnosed with Brugada Syndrome. It is a heart condition that could result in sudden cardiac arrest.
Due to this rare disease, I’ve had to have a defibrillator, or an ICD surgically implanted. The original ICD ended up malfunctioning and shocking me over 10 times. This resulted in many trips to the ER, and ultimately the decision to remove it and install a much more invasive model directly to my heart valve.
During this 2 month ordeal I have undergone 3 surgeries. I have missed out on a lot of work and am way behind on bills. Not to mention the flood of medical bills that are beginning to pour in.
On top of this, I have also been suffering from severe seizures, the last one happened on the 16th while I was on my way to work. I’m partaking in a 24 hour EEG on the 20th to help diagnose the cause of the seizures and put a stop to them. They have been causing even more unexpected trips to the ER, as well as missed days of work.
I’m usually not one to ask for help, but I really could use some right now and I thought this might be worth a try. This has been causing a lot of mental and financial stress for me and my wife. We could really use a break as we are expecting a baby girl in October!
Thanks for taking the time to read!
