I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to read about my situation and possibly assist me with my request. All my life I have worked extremely hard and was even considered a “workaholic”. I was able to partially achieve my dream of becoming an opera singer and earned a bachelor’s degree in music, all on scholarships. It was a great accomplishment! I entered into the corporate world and found a great position in the pharmaceutical industry and worked my way up from the bottom to become a global project manager. Then it happened! I found myself in a hospital, on a ventilator for 3 weeks with some mystery illness that almost killed me. That was the start of what I thought would be a temporary setback. What I did not realize was it would take 12 long years of many doctors, medicines, and hospital stays to determine that I in fact had Lupus SLE. Although it was great to finally have diagnosis, the long process cost me the ability to work full-time, having to rely on Disability. I had a great career and was moving up the corporate ladder in an industry I really loved. Although I tried to keep up, it was obvious to my employers and my doctors, I was not capable of full-time employment anymore. Unfortunately, I had to get rid of my 401k and my savings, my house, my car, and all my assets to go on disability. I have never recovered financially due to the medical bills and cost of living but have strived to survive. Since I had a great job and made a good salary with my jobs, my disability payments are $200 over what would qualify me for additional assistance with medical, food, and living. I get a monthly infusion for my Lupus SLE which helps me function and move without assistance, but it costs $758/month plus the other OTC meds $200/month. I try to get grants when I can, but this year it has been difficult with COVID, and I have used all my available credit and taken out some very high interest loans to keep up with my monthly expenses. Because my debt- to-income ratio is so low (and always will be) I am not able to get a traditional loan. I have had previous loans, at high interest rates, and have always made my payments on time no matter what I had to give up making the payments. I am very embarrassed and defeated to have to ask for money from strangers, but I am in desperate need because I have exhausted all avenues and I am still quarantined due to COVID due to my immunosuppressant illness.
I know I can get back on track if I could just get a little financial assistance, even a low interest loan, to help me get caught up with my bills. I am asking for $7000.00 but anything you could give would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my situation!
