My name is Holly Spiker. I am a 40 year old MS Warrior. In 2017, I had a surprise diagnosis of MS. The next two years with 8 flare ups, two neurologists, and a MS Specialist later, I am proud to say that I minimally disabled and still working. Now 4 1/2 years in remission, MS is not taking me down. With a lot of hard work, I was able to achieve my homeownership dream August 2022. Unfortunately, last September, I lost my job along with everyone else because the company, Mountain Xpress went bankrupt. I worked at one of the gas stations they owned and leased to convenient store companies. Two months after the convenience store company, Brew, was leased to run the properties, is when Moutain Xpress filed bankruptcy. Gobrewgo.com has it posted to their site on the details. All of us were promised unemployment as long as we worked to the very last day the doors closed. I did just that. Yet I got denied unemployment while others were getting paid. I was able to find a job less than a month later. It has been really hard trying to get caught up juggling all the bills. I do not have a retirement fund that I can borrow against because that money was used to repair the broken tub when I first moved into my home. This broken tub was not seen upon inspection, but was seen upon moving in. I am asking for help to get caught up on my mortgage so I do not lose my home. I do not know where else to turn. My family is unable to help and I know they would if they could if my grandmother, Beverly Bland, hadn’t passed away before Thanksgiving. Her obituary can be googled to confirm I am telling the truth. Same with the Mountain Xpress situation. Appreciate every little bit of help I can get. I hope that all of the good juju I put out there in the atmosphere in my lifetime will come back to me. Thank you to each and every person even taking the time to read my words.
