I am writing this today not because I want to trouble anyone for money or anything but because I need urgent financial help so I can meet up with my mother’s funeral cost.
I have just moved to the United States on the 5th of June to join my family that has been living there already. Before moving to America, I and my wife spent a lot on the green card application/legal fees. We were paying rent in 2 different countries. (UK and USA). My mom was sick in Nigeria (Africa). Mummy was 86 years of age. I and some of my siblings were paying her medical bills. It was such a stressful time for all of us. Luckily I got my Green Card in January 2023 (this year) after 16 months of the application process. As a family, we started planning for my big move to America. My wife and son were excited and were looking forward to my joining them after 4 years of marriage. Around late March/early April we started planning on getting my things over to Atlanta, Georgia where we had a rented apartment (wife and son were living there). Around the middle of May, I notified my workplace that I was leaving to join my family in America. My work colleagues were all happy for me and they all wished me well. At the same time, my mother’s condition wasn’t getting better. The sore on her feet was spreading and the doctors were recommending Amputation of the lower leg. Every effort from previous treatment failed. We were all very worried. And I also had a challenging move to another country on my mind.
I finally left the United Kingdom to move to America on the 5th of June 2023. I stopped work on the 19th of May to get things ready for my big move. At the same time, I and my siblings were accepting that mummy’s leg will have to be amputated just like the doctors have been saying. It was a difficult decision but as a family, we had to accept it. Mummy’s leg was amputated at about the same time I arrived in the United States. It was a very difficult and stressful time for all of us. The Health Care system in Nigeria is not the best I must say. The facility available is not comparable to what we have in the Western world. Mummy died a week after her leg was amputated. This was on the 12th of June. Amputation worsened her situation. Mummy lived a long life for Nigerian Standards. We believe she is in a better place now.
Since moving to the United States till this day, I haven’t gotten a job. I have not been working for over 2 months now. I have some courses to take to enable me to get my license and certification. I don’t have experience in Warehouse jobs which is easier to get. I have managed to pass my driving license Test so I can drive now. The only problem is that I don’t have my own car. I share my wife’s car with her. Hopefully, as soon as I find work I’ll try and get a car for myself.
I am expected to travel to Nigeria In Late November because this is when we fixed my mother’s Funeral. I’ll also have to make my contribution towards the funeral expenses, buy my flight ticket for my journey home in November and pay up some outstanding dept accrued because of my relocation to the United States. My wife works but I must say living on her Income is stretching the family budget because she is studying also.
Please I am asking for a sum of $10,000 to enable me to settle the above issues. I’ll be very grateful to you all for your kindness. The almighty God will reward you all. Thank you and God bless.
