My husband and I are retired and on a fixed income.
In February 2022 our oldest daughter died from cancer. She did not have any insurance and we had to bury her. The $11,918.18 expense caused a hardship on our finances. In April 2022, my husband was bitten by a Copperhead and hospitalized. The hospital bill was a little over $75,000. His insurance company adjusted the bill and paid 80% leaving an outstanding balance of approximately $5900. We’ve been trying to pay our 2022 taxes ($2800 and rising), however, have not been able to because we’re paying on the balances on the hospital and funeral bills.
We have always paid our bills on time (and still do) but it’s becoming very difficult to make ends meet. We both have been trying to get jobs but no one wants to hire “senior citizens.”
We were praying and believing someone would be kind and willing to help us out so we can return the assistance to someone else.
