In the hushed whispers of a sorrowful tale, lies the story of a man who walked through life’s shadows, leaving behind a legacy of strength and resilience. My grandfather a beacon of hope for so many, faced his own battles with unseen demons that ultimately led to his passing in 2019. In the wake of his lost, my family and I are left grappling not only with grief of his absence but also with the challenge of commemorating his life in a way that honors his struggles and triumphs. The weight of this burden rest heavy on our hearts, as we seek to provide him with a lasting tribute- a tombstone. Suicide is a conversation many shy from, but it’s through these difficult discussions that we find the strength to heal and create a future of compassion. By sharing his story, we aim to break the stigma surrounding mental health encouraging others to seek help when they need it most.
Please, I am begging, I have four children of my own and losing my grandfather has had devasting effects on my life. I’m seeking my own mental health help but doing so has time and time again put me out of work. Another year has passed since his death. He took his life a day after my birthday, August 6th, 2019. At that time, I was pregnant with my 3rd child, a second daughter. Getting that call dropped me to my knees screaming and crying in agony. With your generosity, together, we can transform thus tragic chapter into a source of inspiration. I can etch my grandfather’s name into a stone, a powerful reminder that even in the midst of darkness, love, empathy, and understanding can triumph. My grandfather was a storyteller, sharing tales of love and the importance of family bonds. His stories and laughter were infectious, his guidance unwavering, and his presence, a source of comfort during life’s storms. He was my rock, my true father. I am sad to say that his wife refused to get a tombstone made as she was upset at his actions. The insurance company of course did not pay out anything because of the way he decided to leave.
Your support in this endeavor holds immense significance. Your contribution will not only help alleviate the financial strain that comes with creating a meaningful memorial, but it will also shed light on the importance of mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
I am asking for $4800 tax included. This covers 24×30 Bronze tombstone with granite foundation, a picture, 5 words of endearment, and 3 embellishments.
