My 18 month old daughter and I just moved to the area a couple months ago for a job for me. The move cost everything I had and I was still behind with all the deposits I’ve had to put down along with now having daycare costs. I’ve been trying to play catch up but the later I am the more fees get accrued. On top of that we did not get child support the last two months but was assured recently I will be receiving it from now on. I don’t get any type of government assistance as I make too much according to the guidelines, but I am on a contract until the end of this month so I don’t get paid for holidays and unfortunately our office was closed for 4 days for Thanksgiving so my paycheck took a big hit there, along with days I’ve had to leave to take my daughter to the doctor for illnesses. I’ve gotten multiple medical bills lately that I’ve had to pay before they go to collections from having to be in the hospital for a week over the summer. We had our power turned off a couple weeks ago so having that turned back on ended up costing us even more with additional fees. Yesterday I got home to a court order on my door for 12/11/18 for a pending eviction. I contacted my apartment management and they told me that I would have to pay $1,841.50 (past Nov rent, legal fees, and late fees) by end of day yesterday and then $1,617.00 ( Dec rent and late fees) by the 14th or they had to proceed and there were no other options. I was told by the sheriff to call the complex’s attorney, but I have not heard back. I have looked into other organizations but do not fit their guidelines nor am I in low income housing right now, and many I have had difficulty even reaching somone. My daughter and I do not have anyone in the area to turn to for help as we don’t know people down here yet. I have been looking for a second job as well as I want to be able to get back on my feet and ahead again as soon as possible. I am also fearful that if I get evicted I will lose rights to my daughter, and that is also just not something I could bear. If you can help I would appreciate it more than you could ever know.
