Hello. A little bit about me first: My name is Jackson, I work in the environmental and transportation industries, I am fairly young just two years out of college, I live in Boston, and I hope this reaches you while you are having a great day!
I am looking for $1,500 before the end of the weekend. Here is my story: I began suffering this summer from extreme nauseau, vomiting, and stomach pain. I won’t go into any more gross details than this, but I would generally vomit close to 50 times a day during my flare ups. After multiple emergency room and primary care visits, I was diagnosed with Chron’s Disease. After a trail-and-error period of figuring out the correct medications and dosage, I am now happy to say the majority of symptoms are gone, or at least controlled to the point where I can live a mostly normal life.
I missed a significant amount of work in August due to my condition. I was able to use earned sick time, and a short term disability leave. However, there was still a total of 8 days that were completely uncompensated, and 14 days of just 60% pay.
Since this happened in August, I paid my September and October rent two weeks late. Luckily, I kept my landlord in the loop on my situation, and he was lenient and gave me a little extra time to collect my rent payments. I was very grateful for this.
Yesterday evening, my landlord contacted me to say that if I do not collect my full rent, plus a late fee, by Tuesday, I will be evicted. I have read my lease document to see if he is allowed to do this, and yes, he is allowed to do this. I am very scared and do not know how to obtain these funds. I am very worried that come Tuesday, I may actually be evicted, and most likely will end up homeless. If I end up homeless, I’ll still have a job, but I don’t anticipate keeping that job very long if I am homeless. I will most likely get let go in the near future due to this uncomfortable situation.
I have been struggling to get my payments back on track. Luckily, I have been able to keep up-to-date on all other bills, loans, expenses, etc., with the exception of this month’s rent. My rent plus the late fee totals $1500, and I would be incredibly grateful of anyone who can assist.
I am using this site as a last resort, as I am unsure of where else to seek help. If I am actually able to get financial help here from any of you, I would be so grateful. I do not want to be homeless. I do not want to lose my job. I do great work that benefits low-income, minorities, with better access to transportation. I am scared.
I have included a photo of myself below if you are interested in seeing what Jackson looks like. This photo is me with a handsome dog named Brody, whom I often walk and dog-sit as a part-time job.
