Eviction notice served: court date July 21st
Hi, my name is Alana Howard and I live with my partner of 11 years(this October) and we have a beautiful boy who just turned 8. My lifemate man was making near 60k a year but after 8 years of grinding himself into madness with an online freelance art job, he had to step away due to health concerns(mental&physical). As this happened my intermittent online work started becoming more sporadic. We took out loans to ensure having a decent Christmas and the spiral of debt has been going ever since. While I have learned much about how NOT to conduct finances, we have found ourselves gasping just to feed ourselves and keep the lights on. We owe the landlord approx 4,000 and owe backpay on many bills, specifically water and electric. We have borrowed from the only family left beyond what they could really spare and have no other way around our rock and hard place anymore; with time quickly evaporating.
I had a traumatic brain injury so severe in 2010 the prognosis was inability to ever have much independence – 29 days later I was released from the hospital and involved with outpatient therapies multiple times a week for the following 5/6 months. I started 2 part time jobs after that and moved back into the apartment I had with a friend. It is only within the last few months I have adopted new perspectives of my life, the struggles, the trauma, and of ‘me’ – allowing me to continue this healing journey to near completion. I point this out because I know the impossible is fallacy and that your kindness and miraculous elevation to putting us back on our feet financially is not only possible, but the only visible path for us to regain our footing.
At nearly 47 years old, my boyfriend can’t easily/quickly just get back in the grind of underpaid ‘young person’ work and I, at 40, between homeschooling our child, and the odd jobs that have kept us from being on the streets already, I can see no other way than to literally beg for the kindness and gracious assistance that we need. My partner has been networking for the last year with fellow artists/online presences and setting up for business(es), we’re in the final stretch before all of the hard work comes together in the next few months and just need the space to complete his plan that is already starting to earn some meager bits and pieces before full launch.
God bless you and thank you,
Love,
Alana
