My name is Dan and it has been a tough 6 months. In October, after a huge amount of stress caused by a business failing I attempted to take my own life. Thankfully my higher power gave me the courage to step down from the noose, call 911 and ask for help. I spent 8 days in the Psych ward, 16 weeks of intensive outpatient treatment and a lot of one on one therapy (thank God for Badgercare state insurance in Wisconsin or I would never have been able to afford the help).
I am recovering now, still in therapy, and trying to piece my life back together both for myself and my wife and daughter. Because of my issues, and my neglect of the family business, we had to close it down. With my inability to work yet, my wife has had to create income for us by taking on 2 paper routes at night. Last night was probably the last straw when our 2002 Toyota Sienna van blew the engine. We have virtually no money, no vehicle, bad credit and no way to get going.
We have an eviction judgement at court which thankfully cannot be served until after the state of emergency situation due to the Corona virus is resolved in WI. That is giving us about 60 days to come up with $2,083.74 to be able to stay in our home, find money quickly to buy an inexpensive used vehicle so we can keep the paper routes, and some spending money so we can fix our hot water which is not working (we own a mobile home and pay lot rent so we have to do the repairs ourselves.)
We have utilized what state and local resources we could and that has gotten us through the winter but until I can find a job that I can handle with my anxiety disorder I don’t know how we are going to keep from going homeless.
Begging like this truly hurts my pride, but when the lives of loved ones are depending on you, there is no place for being prideful. Any help will be appreciated, $5, $10, whatever you can spare. We probably need to raise $2000 in addition to the government stimulus we are counting on to get close to even. I will do my best to pay everything forward once we are in a better spot.
God bless anyone willing to read this and help….we will keep you in our prayers.
