I’ve been running my a successful consulting business for two years and 2019 started better than my previous two years. Things were going well. But in April my two biggest clients decided break contract suddenly leaving me in the lurch.
I had several proposals out for new business but none of them worked out. I was already working a part time job and I took on two more. I applied for a business loan but was denied because my business wasn’t around for three full years. I tried for a personal loan but was denied for that as well due to my credit was destroyed because not only did my personal information get stolen during the Equifax breach but it was also used to open multiple accounts. My good credit went to bad fast and it still not recovered.
I decided to slowly closed down my company and started job searching in May but after exhausting my savings I got behind on my rent. In the middle of June I received an eviction notice. Fortunatey, I was able to ask friends and family for help and stave off losing my apartment.
August came and I landed a job and I start mid-September. The irony is that moving forward from September I’ll be able to sustain myself but I received yet another eviction letter and have a court date this week on September 4th which will determine my fate.
I don’t have anywhere to go. My mother passed away three years ago, my father or my youngest sister are not in a position to help me and the only immediately family I have in the close proximity is my other sister who lives in a home of assisted living for people with disabilities, the main reason why stay in the area.
My current three part time jobs have help with my basic cost of living. Besides a car payment, other necessities and utilities, I don’t have any expenses. I don’t make any frivolous purchases, can’t remember the last time I bought myself something, even for my birthday that just passed.
It’s just me and my cat, who belonged to my and I adopted after her passing. I’m asking for help to pay off three months worth of rent, not including any late charges or legal fees, so I can start I can move forward and start my new job worry free.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
