My family has been struggling for the last year due to medical issues. My son, whom is eight years old, had relapsed with aml leukemia in April 2022. My husband and I took time off without pay to be with him. He went through four rounds of chemo and then had to have radiation therapy. He fought like a boss! He went into remission and in December of 2022 he had his bone marrow transplant. He did great and his older brother was his doner. He is still doing well. He goes to his appointments at MD Anders every Thursday. While that was going on in March, I had surgery. Then I had to have emergency surgery in may. Since May I have been in and out of the emergency room. As of right now I am doing ok. However, My husband and I have four kids and we are trying to get caught up on all our bills. The rent is the most important. However, we are finding ourselves short.
It doesn’t help that we have had to have our Dodge in the shop twice know costing us over 2000.00 just for repairs. That is the only car we have to get my husband and I to work and my kids to school and to Md Anderson for my sons appointments. I really hate to ask and bother people for more help but I cant figure out what else to do. I have asked for over time but my job doesn’t have any to offer same with my husband.
