I had a baby in October via c-section, it was a really difficult pregnancy and I missed a lot of work, I didn’t qualify for paid maternity leave and wasn’t able to return to my physically demanding job for 8 weeks. I did find a good work from home position that started in mid-December, but had fallen pretty far behind on everything by then. I was making good progress catching up, until recently. I have an old high-mileage car and had to have a lot of things repaired on it recently. I am also in a custody battle with my ex husband and have had to shell out a good bit of money in legal fees. I do receive SNAP benefits, but they reduced the amount by 1/3 and grocery costs have sky rocketed. I have been making payments on my rent, but late fees are piling up and now I need to come up with $1500 for rent this week or they will start eviction proceedings. I have a baby and a 14 year old that live with me (child support is wrapped up in the court proceedings), my 13 year old is supposed to stay with me for the summer and I work from home. If I get evicted, my kids and I don’t have anywhere to go and I will also lose my job. In addition to rent I also need to pay the rest of my bills. So if I can get a total of $3000 I will be completely caught up.
