I’ve had to endure unspeakable hardship, and my precious little boy has suffered alongside me. In the process, I lost custody of my son, and our home is about to be taken away from us. As the days pass, our situation becomes more dire, and I find myself at a crossroads where I must act urgently to secure our safety and future. I finally have the courage to leave my abuser because my son needs me.
I want to stress that seeking help from law enforcement is not an option for me due to traumatic experiences in the past. As a result, I’ve been left with no choice but to turn to the kindness of strangers, like you, who may understand the urgency of our situation and the need for a fresh start. With only 8 days left before we must leave our current residence, and with a broken vehicle and depleted finances due to my abuser’s actions, time is of the essence.
I’ve reached out to every resource available in our community, but the support is limited, and the time frame is incredibly short. I am currently on barriers, a form of social assistance, but the funds are far from sufficient to secure a new home and cover essential costs. My abuser’s control over my finances has left me financially incapacitated, and I find myself without the means to provide a safe environment for my son or myself.
I’m asking for your support, not just for financial assistance, but for the opportunity to reclaim our lives and create a haven of safety and healing. My son’s well-being is of utmost importance, and creating a safe space for him is crucial for his development and mental health.
