Thank you for reading this. I am currently a high school teacher, and I have been for almost 11 years. I teach at a private school in the inner city, and I have been living paycheck to paycheck. I do not make the same amount of money as other teachers, like public school teachers, do. About 4 years ago, my mother died of breast cancer, and my family had to sell our house. My dad and siblings decided to move into an apartment for themselves, and I decided to be on my own. Luckily, I was able to save up for retirement at an early age, and was able to borrow from my retirement funds, which I am still paying off. I have a part-time job on Saturdays to help with my finances, and I am still finding myself having to always catch up on bills. I would like to be there for my siblings and dad and be able to support them by making them meals once in a while. Sometimes, that’s hard to do when I am running a little low on finances. I have paid off my car, but because the car has faced issues, I have had to spend money to get it fixed. Sometimes when a necessary financial burden comes up, it’s hard to dig out of the hole. It’s also hard to have to pay an overdraft fee every day that my bank balance is in the negative because it accumulates until my funds are replenished on pay day. I am asking for any assistance in paying off my credit card bills, and to simply get back on the positive. My loans and credit card bills add up to almost $14,000. I am currently actively seeking new jobs that would pay higher. However, I am torn because I love my job as a teacher, but I am trying to make ends meet on a weekly basis. I also had to put grad school on hold until I am able to pay for it. If I finish grad school, I would be able to have a higher salary. I hope to try to help others when I am financially stable. Thank you.
