Hello my name is Joe, I am 32, a student, I work full time as a cafe chef and I live on my own.
I am really struggling this month and have never done this before, I found this site on the off chance and thought I would give it a go. I need £300 to make ends meet this month.
The cost of living has crippled me, part of the reason I am studying is to get a career with a salary. I am 6 years sober from alcohol addiction and have spend the last 5 years working in sawmills and warehouses while running AA meetings and studying therapeutic counselling.
My reasons for going down this path apart from the obvious career with a salary, is to use my experiences to help others. Empathic responding which comes from within. I was hopeless and on the brink of death and I found hope. Maybe I can bring hope to the hopeless once I am fully qualified.
This isn’t a sob story, I am proud of what I have achieved but I do wish to tell you about myself.
This year has been ridiculous financially, I have barely scraped through each month and things only seem to be getting worse for many people, especially for groceries. Part of me thinks I could have done better at school, but I was undiagnosed autistic, the school was a warzone and I did my best. Another part of me thinks I could have been business minded, but I don’t think everybody is, and even less people are lucky no matter how much hard work they put in. I also never had the boost to set up. I found alcohol at the age of 12 which helped me talk to people and go to school, it also stopped me from self harming which at the time was a dream come true for everybody. But then the years passed and I became very poorly.
Now I am well, studying, working, helping others and being the best version of me. I just could really do with a little leg up just this once. I have put things in place to better manage my wages, and I have gathered books and paintbrushes in place of typical entertainment. I would be so eternally grateful if somebody could gift me the £300 for my living costs this quarter. I have covered some of my bills but just need this extra help.
Warmest regards,
Joe.
