Let me start by saying, I acknowledge that the children are fed and attending school (at home).
I’m a single father who has a 5 and 9 yr old both beautiful boys. I have 50/50 custody of them though the mother has opt’d to leave them in my care as long as I continue to pay child support. I worked that out legally with our court, here’s the issue though:
Before I got that worked out She left them in my care and I paid just fine however 6 month ago I lost my job due to a covid related field. I worked in a dentist office as an office manager it was a small chain that was very shaky with money to begin with but covid hit and the owners had to close all the offices. I got help with small amount of unemployment no covid pay for it though and for 6ish months have had a hard time paying the child support I made payments but not enough, I’ve since received a letter saying i’m going to court to decide whether or not I will be incarcerated for back child support that I owed before it was legally in my favor to have the children.
I have 8 days to find 1500$ or I will most likely be going to jail as my lawyer has advised that I will most likely be thrown in there.
I have a new job that I start in 2 weeks which wont be within the 8 days to pay a the 1500 to avoid going to court and once the court date is set my only option is to pay it in full but that’s not possible with my job i’m starting.
The divorce ruined my credit and destroyed my life the only thing I have in the world are my 2 wonderful boys who cry at the thought of having to leave my home again.
Please, I dont need Christmas money I dont need food money I dont need money for electric or wifi I just need money to stay out of jail long enough for my job to start paying me.
