Not usually one to ask for help, but now is the time. I’ve always prided myself in being independent and self sufficient. My history; Spent 12 years in the United States Marine Corps Viet Nam veteran. After departing, studies in police science, became a Certified Protection Officer and Security Specialist. Later first responder training in Oak Ridge, TN. Y12 National Security Complex. Trained with Seattle Police, Seattle SWAT and FBI. Training titled; Global Threat Reduction Initiative. My assignments did not include a 401K, etc. Started investing in real estate. At one time the wife and I had nine properties to include (2) 4-plexes as a means to invest in our future retirement. Just one 4-plex paid off would give us an extra $3000 to $4000 to suppliment our retirement. We operated as a team to achieve our goals. Unfortunately she didn’t have any business sense and spent money like there was no tomorrow. In due time, we lost it all. After 20+ years she decided to depart the relationship. Now surviving on my own, I pay all the bills including car repairs and groceries. Last winter the transmission went out on the car and borrowed $3000 from a friend for repairs of which I’m still paying back. I pay all the monthly bills first. What is left over is for food and gas. I find the problem area is buying proper food to stay healthy. I do frequent the food bank weekly but that is not adequate. A few potatoes and onions and a few cans of food just doesn’t cut it! What would really help is an extra $50 to $100 per month. I’m asking for help. Bless you. Lt. Dan
