Hello everyone!! My name is Tonia, and I have been in monetary crisis since 2019 when I had pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer. My job made me resign and go on a 2-year Long-Term Disability because I was having complications with my health ever since my cancer surgery and missed too much time from work as I worked in a call center. My disability check was taken from me October 2022 and the disability company declined to renew my disability, reason saying “I’m not disabled enough”, yet my doctor advised them I am suffering from exactly what they were looking for to approve a continuation of my disability. So currently, I have not had any kind of income and my last disability check was October 2022. I am suffering miserably, financially, and mentally.
I started job searching in November 2022, and I finally received a job offer on May 1, 2023. On May 15, 2023, I passed out at my job and the ambulance was called by my employer. The diagnosis was high blood pressure and stress. My employer would not let me come back without medical release from my doctor. The release paperwork was submitted numerous times, but the company kept saying my paperwork was not completed by doctor correctly or the dates did not line up because it took up to 2 weeks for the company to approve my paperwork. No fault of my own or my doctor, but they kept requesting the paperwork be filled in completed, so my doctor had no way of putting the correct date for medical release. Meanwhile, at the end of June, I ended up in the ICU for a Pulmonary Embolism with blood clots in my lungs and legs, and I almost passed away. Then my employer advised I needed to start over with new paperwork since I had a new medical emergency. They put me through the same turmoil with the paperwork all the way through August 2023 and then decided to terminate my employment. I am diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression, and I have had thoughts of not living on this Earth any longer, but what will that help?
I have been completely devastated and now once again, it has left me job searching with no luck so far. With my health issues, I am not sure I am able to work, but I am left with no choice but to try. Social Security Disability has denied me twice along with denying my appeal. I submitted a new application since I had the Pulmonary Embolism which was not on my original application. I applied for unemployment, and because I have not been working, they denied me saying I have not worked the last 2 quarters, so I do not qualify to get assistance. The Department of Human Resources says I cannot reapply for Food Stamps for 1-year because they overpaid me, and I must pay them back! I applied for Medicaid because now I no longer have health insurance, so I cannot afford to see any of my doctors, pay copays, or even get my prescriptions refilled. I am on 22 different medications, some over the counter, but the rest are prescriptions and some I have already run out of my medicine. I cannot pay any of my bills. My utilities keep getting cut off and my cell phone is disconnected. I cannot pay my HOA fees (I have now been reported to a lawyer for non-payment) and my mortgage is 6 months behind. Several other bills such as credit cards, a personal loan, home alarm company, medical bills, etc. are all behind in payments or have been charged off or in collections. It has even been a struggle to feed my doggie or even get his healthcare as scheduled. The only way I have been able to live thus far is with help from friends and some family, but now I am not able to borrow from them any longer because I am unable to pay them back. Both my parents are deceased, and I am an only child with no spouse or children.
I am begging desperately for financial assistance. Any little bit helps, but I need a MIRACLE, please. I am so afraid I will be living in my vehicle by the end of the year. I have had several panic and anxiety attacks at least weekly which have not helped any of my medical conditions. A donation of up to $50,000 would save my life and help me get on my feet.
