I was living with relative who passed. I live on disability, it’s not enough to live without help. So, 8 years ago I started living with a relative. It was not perfect I’m 61 years old and this family member had dementia. Care was needed there was not enough to hire others. I lived in that home and took care of this member of the family, so she did not need to be put in home. Eight years passed and the member of my family passed away. My situation has not improved. My health got worse. Over time I had a four-way open heart, stints and a pacemaker. My back began going out and I have a Wheelchair, motorized. My income has not changed and barely covered basic needs. I have a short period of time to relocate. There is a situation with family four states away. My first problem was the wheelchair Lyft. I found I needed a hitch and Lyft as well as a new battery for chair. Hitch was like $300. Battery service just under $300. but the shock was the Lyft. Quoting me $3,500 plus tax, i think. I did not need chair 8 years ago. I do now and it was provided to me. If I cannot raise this, I need to leave wheelchair behind. The Other thing with move seems to be cost of U-Haul. I have old furniture which I cannot leave, and personal belongings. At my age I do not want to start over, but furniture is third generation. Cost of U-Haul $6000. (Estimate for entire trip) and Hired help for the move as well which I have not even figured out yet. I was reluctant to beg help. But I am running out of time.
