I don’t normally do things like this, but I am getting no help off anybody.
Last year, I left my ex partner. I was very unhappy in the relationship, I wasn’t allowed to go out, all I did was work and gave him all my money so he could go to the pub and buy his drugs. All I left with was £10 and 1 change of clothes. I have not been able to collect any of my belongings from him as he has binned everything.
I found out I was pregnant and I am now 31 weeks pregnant, in emergency accommodation provided by the council and am waiting to hear about a permanent property. I don’t have any furniture, or white goods, not even a hoover or any kind of everyday things that people take for granted. I don’t even have a bed. I am not entitled to any help from the government and I have no savings. This pregnancy has made me extremely unwell, I have Hyperemesis, SPD and PUPPS. The baby is due very soon (in August) and I do not have anything to start our life with. I barely have enough to feed myself with throughout the month. I have really hit rock bottom, but I still believe leaving my ex was the best decision I have ever made.
I have done some research on grants and other things similar to try and help me out, but there is very few options on there, and all of them you have to be referred to. I really have no other options left, and nobody to turn to. I don’t know what I can include to back up my story other than my maternity certificate. I have £200 to survive off each month as due to being so ill during this pregnancy I cannot work, but believe me, I have tried. I have had sick notes off my doctors, but am not entitled to any help off the government. They seem to think £200n a month is sufficient enough. Once I have paid what bills I need to pay, I have next to nothing left. I buy what I can to eat out of the reduced section in the supermarkets. I have appointments in the hospital to travel to, which is over 10miles on the bus. If I went in to labour, there is no maternity facilities at my local hospital. I have to travel to the nearest one with these facilities to have my baby which, as aforementioned, over 10 miles away.
I want my baby to look at me with pride, I want to be able to build a home for us, somewhere that is safe and clean and a happy home. I don’t have any support from my family and what friends I do have cannot help me.
I really have no more options left.
