Hello dear friends, it’s in great confusion and distress that I’m writing to you. My name is William, a poor father who has tried everything to do his duty as a father, but life has decided otherwise, it’s so unpredictable and so unfair… My story may sound like déjà vu, but isn’t it always the same story that repeats itself over and over, somewhere, in some lost corner of this planet. I really need financial help right now.
Madagascar is one of the poorest countries in the world, where 80% of people live below the poverty threshold, and only 20% of the population have a [job]. It took me at least 5 months to find my current job, and it will probably take me just as long to find another. That’s why my wife and I decided to borrow money to set up a small business while we still could, but things didn’t go as planned and the business is struggling to get off the ground. As well as borrowing money from the bank (Access Banque) and from mobile banking (M Vola), we also borrowed money from family and friends. In the meantime, I’ve suddenly lost my job (as my current employer is bankrupt). All this has left us in a very critical situation : I’m unemployed, with rent I can no longer pay, riddled with debt, with a small business that has only just started up and needs more funds to get off to a good start. Everything has happened so fast that I’m distraught…Nothing’s going right anymore, I’ve tried everything : looking for work, I’ve done an online job, but I’ve been scammed, I’ve even done online microtask, but nothing works and time is running out, because very soon we’ll be on the street without any resources. It’s already the end of the month and I’m behind on several payments.
Our debt stands at $3,500 and we need another $2,500 to get our small business off the ground.
My little family and I are begging you for a second chance ; for a fresh start, and to get on with our lives. There’s nothing left we can do.
