This is my son and I. My son does dialysis 9 hours a day at home and even though I have a full time job, my husband works part time to accommodate our sons schedule. We moved out of a hotel after 3 years in January and into an apartment and we never completely recovered from transitioning because we couldn’t get the assistance we needed. You would think having a child with medical issues there would be a lot more programs but unfortunately there hasn’t been and then funds for certain programs ran out. I just need some extra help to help me recover with some bills and with food because there are times, where I have had to choose between having food and paying a bill. For example, like my car note is behind which gets me to and from appointments as well as labs for him. I have tried 211, united way and its all been dead ends really. I have a 9 month old, whom I nurse and he has appointments as well. Having a car is critical especially in this season of working with transplant, which today (July 11th) we have to postpone because of a urinary issue, and in order for transplant to be successful this issue has to be fixed. Dealing with Stage IV Kidney disease especially in a child is not easy. Any assistance to help us lift some of the weight would be great, and honestly help us breathe a little bit more. We greatly appreciate it in advance.
