Hello my name is Jared. I am a 30 year old male from Virginia trying to get my life back on track. I have been trying to catch up on bills while still working 40 hours a week. Before the pandemic I had my current full time job at a grocery store and my part time job at the wearhouse. Business died down immediately the wearhouse had massive cuts. Along with loosing my part time job, I had taken a pay cut from my full time job. At my grocery store I was working at the bar/Cafe as a server/barista/bartender. I was making tips ontop of my hourly pay. When the pandemic hit the bar closed down. I was lucky enough to be able to work in another part of the grocery store. Unfortunately I took a massive pay cut. At this point I could have been laid off and collected unemployment. Even though I would have made more money collecting unemployment I decided to work to secure my job. Throughout this pandemic I have had to move to a city outside of the location of my grocery store job. I had a moped that broke down on me. I put $500 into it to get a new engine, just to have to fix a flat tire the next week. Now it is currently not working. I was fortunate enough to get an auto loan for a Toyota Corolla. I have already had to buy all new tires, flush break fluid, and replace the transmission. Along with other cost and minor work. The car is old, but in great condition now. Behind me is about $3000 in credit card debt, $3000 student loan debt, and now a $9000 auto loan which ill be paying off the next 5 years. I have always been good with my credit cards, but with the pandemic and all these transportation issues I’ve had, I’m in over my head. I would like to finally pay off everything and get back into school. I was going for Civil Engineering, and would like to continue my studies. My dream job would to be an Environmental Engineer and work on taking care of our planet through problem solving using math and science. I know ill get there one day, but I could really use some help getting there. My auto loan is not a problem, I’m only paying $180 a month on that. The Government stopped student loan interest till September, but I need to pay it off before I can apply for financial aid for school. What I am worried about is my credit card debt for all my auto bills. I have never had to pay interest on my credit cards, but I am running out of time. If anyone could help my out it would mean so much to me and my family. My parents are getting old and I haven’t been able to take care of them. My brother has been single handedly taking care of my 75 year old father and paying for all his medical work and living situation in Wisconsin. My Mom and step Dad are doing well, but are getting to the age that they won’t be able to work any longer, and don’t have a nest egg. Sooner I get back in school, the sooner I can start my career, the sooner I can take care of my parents. Sorry about the typos and grammer. I don’t own a computer, so I am using my cell phone. Thank you for taking the time to listen to me. If you would like to message me personally or have any questions my email is jaredasherotto@gmail.com.
