Hi. My name is Michelle. I last worked a FT job in Nov 2020. For most of 2021 I worked on getting a certification in another career field while unemployed. In Oct 2021 I started working for the instructor of the certification class PT (which didn’t cover my living expenses but wanted training) and in Mar 2022 I had to resign due to health issues affecting my job performance. Since Mar 2022 I have not had a job or any form of income. I haven’t worked due to ongoing health issues. I’ve exhausted all my retirement, savings, and investment accounts and nearly maxed out my credit cards. I do not qualify for Unemployment Insurance due to me not working enough hours within the designated quarters to qualify. I don’t qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSI) as 3 or more of my daily living activities are not consistently impaired. I live in the state of Georgia in the U.S. and they don’t have benefits public or private (to my knowledge) for people between the ages of 18-55 yrs old who do not have kids or not pregnant or totally disabled. I lost my apartment in Mar 2023 and relocated to south Georgia to illegally live in my Mom’s apt. It’s a senior living apt. Thankfully for almost 3 yrs I had financial resources to take care of my responsibilities but my resources have run out. I did not think I would be impaired for so long and unfortunately my health has taken a turn for the worst 1 1/2 months ago. It does not appear that I will be stable enough to return to the workforce anytime soon. My concerns are that I have a car note and if I lose it I won’t be able to get around. Also my Mom’s leasing agent inquired how long I would be in her home as I have already been here 5 months and I am not a resident nor qualify to become one. If I lose my car I would have nowhere to go if I get kicked out. I am working with my doctors and specialists to address my health issues (3 conditions primarily) but it’s taking a while to find treatments and medications that work for me. I need financial assistance for existing debts, present needs, and expected expenses if I continue to be dysfunctional for about 6-12 months.
My needs are to insure my car doesn’t get repossessed, cover my storage, acquire housing, and clear credit cards since they were my backup funding source and have become my primary. Cover present needs and have financial resources to access other than credit cards. Lastly, plan for coverage of expenses if I can’t work soon. It’s usually recommended to set aside 6 months of living expenses.
Here’s the breakdown of what I am requesting financial assistance for rounded to the nearest whole dollar:
Car loan: $ 7,429
