I can not describe the fear that I have felt for the past year.
I found out i was pregnant in June 2020. Never thought i would have any more children, considering that my only other child was 16…so by the time my baby was born that’s a 17 year ago gap. So I was surprised when I found out I was with child. After telling my fiance that I was 2 months pregnant he promptly broke off our engagement and kicked me out on the streets. Having no friends and no family, I didnt have any options. So I pitched a tent in the woods. Soon after I realized that this was a mistake. On top of being newly pregnant, I also have epilepsy. After reading all the side effects for an unborn baby, I quickly discarded all my seizure meds which resulted in me having around 20 seizures per day on average. I was so exhausted….hungry…. thirsty. I knew I was going to die. So I just lay there. I just gave up.
Then….here comes JonPaul. He saved mine and my unborn baby’s life. But little did I know….he had secrets. Turned out he was a leader in a gang. He was also a rapist and extremely violent.
He was pulled off of me twice while I was pregnant while he was strangling me…and when my water broke I spent the entire night running and hiding from him instead of going to the hospital. I eventually passed out from exhaustion and woke up tied up…which took almost 24 hours before someone found me and I was finally able to go to the nearest hospital. Once there I was transferred by ambulance to another hospital.
But something was wrong…and when the Dr. asked me what he should do if things took a turn for the worst… my baby was premature and my water had been broken now for close to 3 days…but I gave birth to a 7.3 pound baby boy….born prematurely by 1 day…however…due to my water being broken for so long…we both ended up almost dying. The amniotic fluid got into my baby’s lungs. He had chorioamnionitis. The infection led me to get bacteremia…a serious blood infection. My newborn was quickly rushed to the neonatal ward… where he was placed in an incubator along with a feeding tube, placed on a respiratory machine, and 2 ivs. I couldn’t hold my baby. I couldn’t nurse my baby. I was in a room without my baby getting almost round the clock antibiotics and other iv fluids. After 3 days I was able to hold my baby. 2 more days I was able to take him home. On my birthday.
I thought things would be different. But I was wrong. They only got worse. Now I was being beaten on a daily basis. Now he was raping me almost on as daily basis. The last incident was just a few days ago. He beat me in my face with an unopened can of mountain dew until it busted…then tried drowning me with its contents. The morning following…. he beat me with a metal pole as I was trying desperately to run away from him. He broke my right hand.
This time when someone called the police I decided to trust the law to protect me and tell them what happened. Turns out they really couldn’t help me. He went to jail for aggravated battery causing bodily harm or disability (domestic) . He has a $10,000 bond. Someone will bond him out soon. They always do.
I need help… I have no money and it’s hard to work with a 6 month old and me having epilepsy…although I am still applying for positions…. and now I also just found out that I’m pregnant again.
So I am asking for $5,000 so that my 6 month old baby boy, my unborn child and myself can have the funds to get our own place and get away from him.
