I have never asked for a donation before, but I don’t have any other option right now. Hello, my name is Michelle Basso, and I’m a single mom. My son Jonathan is 12 years old. He desperately needs his Dupixent medication, (which is for severe exzema), and also his anxiety medication. He was covered by Medicaid and was recently dropped. I tried to add him to my Insurance at work, but not only does it cost a fortune,it doesn’t cover the cost enough to make it in any way possible! Not only that, i could not add him to my Insurance policy until January of 2025. His last doses of Dupixent was almost a month ago, and his skin is horrible! The cost for both medications is very exspensive, and he needs tgem badly. I work full time, and I am barely making ends meet as we speak. I have absolutely no help, and right now every penny I have goes towards groceries, bills, and helping with my father,as he was just diagnosed with ILD, 6 months ago as well. Jonathan’s skin is so dry, cracked, and painful right now! He begins itching all over and it causes more anxiety…which then goes into a vicious cycle. He can’t sit still in class due to all of the itching, and he’s embarrassed by his appearance as well. Kids stare and say mean things, and it breaks my heart. I really need some help for Jonathan. His Dupixent costs $4,091.00/ for 2 doses(shots) a month. His anxiety medication is $362.00/month. I cant afford either. This effects absolutely everything he does on a daily basis. I have pictures of his skin, and also his Dupixent prescription box, which his last 2 doses were in. I’m currently trying to figure out what to do with Medicaid as we speak. They told me last Wednesday that I had to re-apply, and if he’s not denied, it will take atleast 2 months until he is covered. I appreciate you taking the time to read this, and if considered, I would be very grateful.
Sincerely,
Michelle R. Basso
