My name is Tom. I am 23 years old. I am a musician with a degree in music, but currently unemployed due to mental health issues. I recently had to sell both of my instruments in order to pay for travel to go and look after my best friend while she was having a medical emergency. Now I need to buy them back so I can try and continue living my life. I am not currently receiving any benefits due to the government’s austerity measures in which mental health has taken a huge hit financially. I now have no way of buying my instruments back other than to ask for your generous help. Without them I am unable to continue playing music, which is how I usually fill my days. This helps me keep my mental health in check and I also earn around £5-10 a month from meagre online music sales. Obviously without my guitar and bass I cannot continue.
I hope someone can help me out of this hole. £500 would allow me to buy my instruments back and allow me to try and build a life for myself. I have been unable to find work since I graduated from university, which has caused me to feel absolutely desperate and hopeless. I have no car, no assets and no future as far as I can tell. I am currently living with friends but they are losing patience with me as I am unable to contribute financially to any aspect of my own life. Music is the only talent I have, and my only hope of getting anywhere with my life. This is not meant to be a sob story, I am just doing my best to present you with the facts. Please help me.
I have included a picture of one of the instruments which I sold. It has great sentimental value as it was a gift from my parents for my 18th birthday. I only have two weeks to buy it back from the shop I sold it to before I lose it forever.
Thank you very much for your time.
