I am calling out to any kind-hearted individuals, willing to help change a broken life for the better.
I am a single mother of two children. It has always been just us in more ways than one, and now I find myself desperately seeking a glimmer of hope in the rubble of a life I once called my own.
I owned my home since 1998, and in 2016, my property’s value skyrocketed 300% due to developments in the area. While my story is not uncommon, I never expected, with my dedication to paying my dues, that the Homeowners’ Association would swoop down on me and my family like vultures, taking everything we had in our time of desperation.
For roughly two decades, I built this sanctuary. Countless cherished memories were forged here. My home was a symbol of hope as friends and family stayed in my care when they had nowhere else to go. Despite the challenges life threw my way, I always dared to persevere in the face of adversity.
The final straw, however, was when the pandemic struck. In the wake of unforeseen circumstances, I caught the virus and struggled without an income. I could barely support my family’s needs, let alone fulfil the obligations of our HOA dues.
Regrettably, this financial hardship led the HOA to take actions that no vulnerable person should ever endure. It was as if they were just itching to strike, with how quickly they worked to process the foreclosure. In a shocking disregard for the governing covenant that safeguards our rights, the HOA unlawfully foreclosed on my property without adhering to the protocol that requires an attorney’s involvement.
They brazenly transferred ownership to one of their investor colleagues, instead of doing an open foreclosure. This led to my eviction, leaving my family homeless, and our precious belongings of over twenty-two years, damaged or forever lost. There is so much that my family will never get back, we’re like strangers with no past to keep us grounded anymore, and it has taken a mental and emotional toll.
Nevertheless, I continue to struggle in the fight for my only home, but our lives have been reduced to pieces of a scattered puzzle as a result. The case is stalled because we don’t have the money to pay our lawyer.
I cannot do this alone, I need help to see this case through and we’re running out of time, currently I owe $3,400 in rent. I am pleading for $20,000.00 to not only seek help with attorney’s fees to challenge the illegal foreclosure, but to pay my rent and rebuild the foundation of my own and my children’s lives.
Your compassionate assistance will forever be etched within our hearts as we fight for a second chance at life.
