Hi my name is Hannah, I’m 21 years old and currently my goal is to become a surgeon. In 2020 I bought a car and in august of 2021 I was told mg car needed a new engine. Unfortunately I didn’t have the money to replace the engine and I had to ask for a voluntary repossession. This affected my credit immensely, finally in January 2022 I was able to get a car again. I put money down and got a reliable car. On June 30th, 2022. I was on my way to the mall with my mom when we were hit head on, on US 19. Thankfully we both walked away alive. Meanwhile all this is going on while my dad is in between moffitt cancer center and Tampa general hospital on a ventilator and needing open heart surgery, he was diagnosed with a rare type of T cell leukemia in 2021. My car was totaled, the insurance company only has a very low minimum that doesn’t cover all of the car and it’s affected my credit in a negative way again. I’m only 21, I pay all you bills, I truly didn’t do anything to damage my credit. I am left without a car, being my dads primary caretaker is hard without a car, my mom always has her car because she works during the day and I mostly work at night. I’ve had to pay for car rentals and Ubers back and forth to work and the hospital and I haven’t been able to save enough for a down payment on a car. My life was saved in that accident and I’m so thankful to be alive but it’s really made my life so difficult, because of my credit every dealership I go to wants 5,000 down. I need to go to a dealership because with how far I drive to the hospital and taking my dad to all his appointments I need good long lasting warranty. I have no one else to ask, I don’t have any siblings and my parents are so behind on medical bills they wouldn’t even have a quarter of what I’m asking for. This is really hard for me to do, I feel horrible for asking. All I’ve ever wanted is to do something on my own and make something of myself and now I know I need to ask for help.
