Help Me Anyone, You’re My Only Hope!

Dear Readers, forgive me for the sob story I’m about to tell, but I am pretty much destitute at this point, but I’m going up to bat here, praying to hit the miracle home run.
I’ve always been taught to do the right thing, in spite of parental contradictions on their own behavior.
I did grow up with violence in my household, so my archetype is pretty much the “rescuer”. While I have worked hard for the money, and have enjoyed earlier successes, I bear in mind that my grandparents were business and community oriented people with a corporate social responsibility to those whom they serve: the local people in the community.

In 2017, just a year shy before graduating from the local university with my second Masters Degree (the MBA this time; prior to that, I received my Masters in Information Systems Engineering, and I took that after sequestration put me out of any possibility of any financial recovery after my Federal Government contract suddenly disappeared due to a reduction in force by the US Navy) I lost a good caregiver / chauffeur job, as the client was rapidly dealing with deteriorating health, requiring advanced care I had no certification for. I bit the bullet, and took a job in the insurance industry as an agent with a Health and Accidental Certificate. As much as I loved the job and worked my butt off trying to make the commission, I only made one commission, was never paid for actually working the hours, spent LOTS of money on fuel, and other things required of agents in the field. I thought working for a brokerage would be better served as opposed to working for a supplemental insurance company, and the brokerage was local. Unfortunately, same issue, I worked my butt off, but only got one important sale (Medicare, and a plan F, to which one of my bosses gave me a personal check in lieu of a commission check, and unless I fight it in court, it looks like this is the only check I’ll ever see) I found another place to work, yes, another insurance company, but they assured me I would get paid hourly. Unfortunately, the background check, even though it was great, I needed certain criteria up to date, such as bills, car insurance, et al., and they wanted a different license for certification. Technically, still with this company, but I can’t seem to pass the exam, and I cannot afford the classes to get the certification (as an alternate to me going to the exam center and taking the exam)

The first year in the apartment had a few repair issues, the major one being the oven smoking terribly due to a grease drip into a pan near the grill that is sealed shut. It didn’t get repaired until after Christmas, and even then, my friend and I had to literally take a screwdriver to the sealed drip pan, clean it and put it back together. (3 technicians called on this, with the 3rd one telling us how to get under the drip pan area to clean it)
At the start of November in 2018, a friend of mine was a victim of domestic violence, and not wanting her to deal with this ex-friend killing her, as he loved to test the firing pin of his assault rifle by aiming the gun at the wall, just near enough to my friend’s head that she could feel the air from the volley hitting her face, and told her to stay with me for the holidays. (Side note: this man comes from a politically “affluent family”; gun enthusiast, and former convicted felon,  who feels he is above the law, to the point of actually taking a bulldozer to my friend’s personal effects after he thew her out, even after local law enforcement told him “don’t touch anything of hers”. I actually got to see what the barrel of an AR-15 looks like “as a joke”, as he pointed it at my face to startle me, while he was stoned out of his head, and telling me it wasn’t loaded, on New Year’s Day 2018)
I wish I could say the holidays went by smoothly, but a neighbor whom we entrusted initially, decided to give my friend a very hard time, causing 3 written notices by the HOA, that we managed to get cleared, but the damage had been done.

I plan on fighting the eviction, as there are mold and electrical issues the landlord knew about and require fixing. (Due to a storm a few weeks ago) Rather than fix them while I live here, he just wants to sweep it under the rug, and I feeo he is so wrong in doing so.

In the meantime, Urgent Emergency Funding Issues!

What I need for the legal defense: Currently, the landlord wants $13,000. Landlord is currently suing me as well, but I haven’t seen what his additional reasons are for.

contributions for legal fees – Legal Aid consult starts at $35.00, and who knows what they want after that.

contributions for gasoline – currently $12 per trip to the courthouse and back to home at $3.00 gallon

contributions for the dog’s healthcare issues: My dog, who is also my registered emotional & medical support dog (as he helps with diabetic episodes in low blood sugar) A 10lb bag of food runs around $30 – $40, and he needs a new vest, which runs in the $70 range.

Contributions for my car: I have a $2800 payment left on it that I’d like to rid of so I can have a clear title. Also, I need $260 for the car registration and the smog test certificate, I require 4 new tires as the others are pretty much going bald ($400 – $550 for a set, plus mounting and balancing, and an oil change, fuel and oil filters and I use synthetic oil since my car is high mileage in the triple digit region. ($75) When one’s an agent, you need the car to get to your customers!

Contributions for work-related items: I’ve lost a lot of weight! Clothes are at least 5 inches off the body now, and my last belt is about to break from tightening it as much as I could to hold my pants up. Between that and certifications I need to keep up with, I’d say $1000 out of my own pocket.
I could really use some assistance! Help Me, Anyone!… you are my only hope!
