My name is Michelle Holder, I am a married mother of two beautiful little girls – a 2 year old and a 9 month old. They are the loves of my life and everything I do is for them. I work full time as a retail manager, and my husband is currently looking for work. Even though we are struggling to make ends meet with one income, I am very grateful that he is able to be home to care for our daughters. We have been able to save on childcare, and it gives me peace of mind to know they are safe at home with their father. We recently filed our taxes, and were expecting a tax refund in the amount of $1850. We were disappointed to find that 100% of our refund was applied to a tax debt that we had no idea existed. Apparently, my mother had used my social security number to claim part of her income on a small business she started, but she never told me about it. We were really counting on that refund money to be able to afford the down payment on a new home. Our current lease ends at the end of May, and we now have no money to move. We can’t afford to keep paying the rent where we are currently living so we were hoping to downsize to save some money. Money is very tight and we have quickly fallen behind on many bills. The most pressing concern, however, is just having enough money for food and gas this month as we scrape together everything we can to save up for our move. Our refrigerator and pantry is empty this morning. We have a quarter tank of gas in our car. I get paid on Thursday, but my entire check will have to be applied to May rent and I will still be $30 short. Not to mention will have no money left over for food and gas. I have faith that these struggles will one day end and that in the future we will be able to help someone else in need. If you are so led, my family and I would be so grateful for any amount you can offer to help us. I appreciate the time you spent reading this post. Thank you!
