Dear friends,
I’m writing to you today with a heavy heart, as I find myself in a difficult situation that I never could have imagined. My name is Robert, I’m 39 years old, and I live in Toronto, Canada with my wife and our three kids, aged 9, 4, and 2.
Over the past 12 years, my wife and I have been fighting a lot to create a better life for our family. We’ve been struggling to make ends meet, as we’ve never both had work at the same time. We’ve been relying on one income at a time, and it’s been a constant struggle to stay afloat. We’re still renting a house, and we have no savings, no savings for our kids’ education, and no life insurance.
2023 was the hardest year in my entire life so far. I had a small trucking company, but due to the current situation in the world and my mother-in-law’s health issues, I had to shut it down. My mother-in-law didn’t have health insurance, so we had to do everything in our power to save her life, after discovering that she had an Aortic Aneurysm of 8 cm. We borrowed what we could, even though we didn’t have great credit score, to pay for the surgery, hospital and everything. Unfortunately, she passed away after a 6-month battle. After organizing the funeral, everything started falling apart. I lost my trucks, I owe a lot of money to the government and private lenders, and I had to file for bankruptcy.
I tried to find a job, but I couldn’t find anything better than a part-time job. Even mentally, it was a huge struggle, but I tried my best to stay up for my wife and my kids. I lost the job, my wife lost her job too. The cost of living is very high in Toronto, and we have to take care of our kids and survive.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and I’ve worked in a hospital for 10 years. I also worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator. However, due to mental harassment, I had to resign and leave the hospital. I dream of being able to work from home so I can manage my work and my family. I wanted to change careers and go into the Cybersecurity field as a GRC Analyst, but all the programs I can take are between $5000 to $15000 and take 3 to 6 months to complete.
After filing for bankruptcy, I would need between $150,000 to $250,000 to pay off my debts and get back on my feet. This amount will help me pay off all my debts, pay for my Cybersecurity course, find a better job, put a security fund for my kids and my family.
I’m determined to turn my situation around and get back on my feet. I’m currently enrolled in some free Cybersecurity courses online, hoping to find the money to pay for a proper program. After all, I’m pretty confident that with my skills and determination, I can find a well-paying job in the tech industry. I’m also planning on helping my wife get a better degree so we can both find better jobs to take care of our family.
I want to express my deepest gratitude for any help or support you can provide. I know that times are tough for everyone right now, and I’m so grateful for your time and consideration. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Sincerely,
Robert
