I would like to tell you a bit about my situation. I am currently working one full time job and one part time job. I’m working roughly 6 to 7 days a week, depending on the part time schedule. Where I work is about 60 km (37 miles) from home that I drive everyday. I usually try and fill up my car every three to four days, trying not to go below a half of a tank in case I need to go somewhere in an emergency.
I am currently living in an older home, with wood chips in the walls, and old windows. I can feel the wind go through the walls all the time. I have a couple of windows that are covered with plastic year-round to try and keep the elements out. I have been able to get some assistance with getting my basement insulated and my roof repaired.
I have a renter, that I can’t rely on to make payments, and I’m having a hard time to get rent paid. Yes, I have tried to evict them.
The main floor of the house where I live still needs to be renovated (insulation, windows, electrical). I took out a mortgage to renovate the upstairs, so that I could rent it out to help with payments. While I would very much like to fix up my house at this time, I have other more pressing concerns.
As with a lot of other people out there, I am living paycheck to paycheck. I used up all of my savings in 2022 as I was unemployed at the time. Leaving me in my overdraft, that I am still struggling with today. I am also pretty much maxed out on my credit card.
I am frustrated when I see that I don’t have enough money to pay my mortgage, even though I am literally paid weekly (every two weeks from my full time job and my part time job). The payments come out on Thursdays and I am paid on Fridays.
My vehicle requires some repairs as well. The repairs that my SUV requires are shocks, and something to do with the sway bar. I believe the struts will be needing to be replaced and an alignment would be needed when that is done. I also noticed that my SUV is using up oil more than it should with around 168,000 km (104,000 miles) on it.
I would like to ask for assistance in helping me get out of my overdraft, pay off my credit card and help me with repairs to my car.
To also help me with my future, I am relearning how to budget and manage my personal finances. I have taken the time to make a spreadsheet with all of my monthly expenses like electricity, vehicle insurance, etc. As it stands, my income barely covers my expenses. If I could rely on my renter then it would help me out of my situation faster.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
