Thank you for taking the time to read my story. My name is Nicole, and I have 26 years of age. At this point, I have learned a lot from my adventures, & now I’m ready to start my own business and contribute to our economy & society on a grand scale. But first, I need to get back on my feet.
At 19 I knew there had to be more to life than working, which is exactly what I watched my parents do daily since we had moved to America. So, I booked my first tour trip to Europe, with over 15 strangers. I worked at a hair salon and saved everything I earned for this trip. The summer of 2017 I was traveling through Italy & Greece, learning about the culture, tasting the food, and meeting the locals. This summer was the most transformative time of my life, and I was determined to show every kid that’s just like me to do the same. Once I got back to the states, I spent time volunteering at local community centers hosting creative workshops and events, I also made it my mission to volunteer at an underprivileged all girls school where I spent quality time with them. My motivation comes from God, because I knew then what I know now, that there is more to my story than growing up on the corner of Warburton and Glenwood, where people were shot & killed any given night.
Today, I find myself living in Los Angeles, buried in debt. I took a chance on myself to pursue my dreams, and without knowing anyone I moved cross-country. Although it had been the best decision of my life, it’s also been difficult. Right now I need help paying for my rent, which I am $5,000 in debt because work slowed down almost completely, my car has been repossessed after 2 missed payments, medical bills are coming in because I was un-insured and had an emergency, I have student loan debt coming in, and credit card debt used to pay for school and emergency expenses. Total debt comes to approximately $25,000. It’s discouraging to say the least, but I am working to stay on my feet because I refuse to give up.
Thank you again for your time. God bless.
