Hi. My name is Candice
I’m 39 years old. And I have a 12 year old daughter.
I lived in Wyoming for 15 years.
And January 1st of last year, I moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri
Last year I applied for a position as a certified trainer and a shift lead, known as an assistant manager at Buffalo Wild Wings and was hired June 12th 2020 . I also wanted to move closer to my Mom who lives in St Louis.
What was my deciding factor moving really was more about giving my daughter a better education which the schools here in Missouri have more opportunities and offer.
My daughter’s father and I separated before she was born, however both of us have taken an active role in her life and built a good co-parenting relationship. This move hasn’t been easy on anyone. Especially when a couple weeks after my move covid pandemic hit full force. My place of work being a restaurant was the first to close its doors . My life went from financially steady to pinching pennies and barely surviving, including not being able to travel like originally planned once a month to see my daughter in Wyoming till she finished 5th grade.
Her father and I also thought it would be an easier adjustment to finish out her fifth grade year. That gave me time to get settled with a new job and house before she came to live with me and start her first year in Jr high-school .
I drove my ol chevy Tahoe down here knowing it would probably be its last long trip. With my new job I planned on buying a new vehicle .. and again with covid ..the money I did have saved went to necessary expenses to provide for my daughter and myself . So far the ol tahoe is still holding up however its on its last legs and need a dependable vehicle. When school got out my daughter’s dad was going to drive her and drop her off with me
Unfortunately, the last few months her father’s new girlfriend seems to have influenced him down a path that’s not healthy and got into some trouble. I now have to take an emergency trip up to Wyoming to get her.
My father who lives in Wyoming was able to take her in the meantime so she can finish Her last weeks of school till summer.
Like I mentioned before, unfortunately my ol tahoe has seen its better days and I don’t feel it’s reliable to take another Thousands of Mile To go get her. So I looked into Rental cars, mind you it is only 300 dollars for a standard car for a week. However, I do not have a major credit card. Nor established credit
I’ve always been a strong believer, if you can’t afford it, don’t buy it. I’ve always bought my vehicles out right? Well, being 39 years old and not establishing credit. Definitely has bitten me in the butt. I’ve been finding it hard to get a loan. And what I was told is that the rental place will run my credit which could do my credit.. and I can’t have that if I’m thinking of applying for a car loan.. Without a major credit card I would have to put a 300 dollar deposit down plus 386 something dollars for a rental car. I’m thinking that $600 Towards a car loan or a car? Down payment. I should say.
It seemed silly to waste money on a vehicle for one trip there and back. I was hoping. For donations on a down payment to help me get started in a reliable car. I don’t need anything new. Nothing fancy, just something reliable.
And I have no issues paying for a car payment oBut just to get a good start and do this emergency situation, I was a little unexpected. Only have a small nest egg.
So, any kind of donations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I promise to always pay forward and to teach my daughter the same.
Sincerely,
Candice
