I have been putting this off long enough. It is not like me to ask for help but I find myself in a very desperate situation. I have always worked all my life and paid my bills to the best of my ability. I have always been the person everyone else would come to for help and I always helped within my ability to help. Now I need help and cannot get the help back from these same people, no fault of their own, they just don’t have the means to help me in the way that I need help. Back in the summer of 2019 I lost my job while still grieving the death of my Father in April 2018 and then the loss of my youngest brother in December 2018. I had exhausted my unemployment benefits and then the pandemic was declared in March 2020. Fortunately although the pandemic was/is bad it helped me financially with the extension of unemployment benefits which for me ended in August of 2021. Plus I cashed out my retirement funds to make ends meet. I was not able to secure employment before the pandemic and I was not able to find employment during the pandemic. I am currently searching for a remote work from home position with flexibility. Right before the pandemic was declared my disabled mother’s health had been deteriorating . So with the help of the Medicaid waiver in our state, I became my mother’s caregiver. Unfortunately this only pays me a stipend of $35 a day to take care of my disabled mother. This amount equals to $1092 a month. Her care plan does not allow my mother to be home alone no more than 3-4 hours a day. This makes it very difficult to even find a part time position outside of the home. I have a strong sense of duty to take of my mother. I will never put my mother in a nursing home if I can help it. My family and myself believe my Dad’s death was partly the fault of the nursing home he was in at the time. So I write all this to bring me to ask for help to pay off my debt. I am asking for help to pay off my credit card debt which amounts to $16,000 and my car note which I still owe $9000. Plus my home is in jeopardy, I am currently in default and trying to get mortgage assistance through my mortgage company. As far as my mortgage goes nothing has been resolved as of this writing. I am currently 2 months behind quickly becoming 3 months behind which amounts to $1600. I really don’t want to lose my home. I could not live anywhere else cheaper. My current mortgage payment when paid on time is $540 a month. Rents in my area are easily $1000-$2000 a month. Plus I really don’t want to move a disabled parent with minimal mobility. So all together I am looking for help to payoff $26,600 in credit cards, car loan, and the payments I am behind on my mortgage. If I could get rid of those payments I should be able to pay my mortgage, utilities, and buy groceries with the $1092 I am receiving for taking care of my mom. Hopefully in the mean time I can land a job working from home. I will be forever grateful for any help anyone can give me.
