Dedicated Teacher Needs Help with Medical Costs

I have been a teacher on special needs children for over twenty years. Teaching children is my heart’s joy and life ‘s purpose. Sadly, I am unable to teach now due multiple serious medical conditions such as Crohn’s disease, chronic kidney disease,  and hereditary spherocytosis that has caused several blood clots to formbin legs and arms. In July 2020, while waiting to return to school which had been previously closed since March of last year due to COVID, I collapsed from a sepsis episode with gastrointestinal bleeding. While in the ER, I suffered two cardiac arrests needing CPR which resulted in multiple rib fractures.  I was hospitalized for three weeks, the first of which I spent in a medically induced coma. I missed the start of school and hoped and prayed I could return in September. Alas, that was not to be for I fell ill to more sepsis episodes and the gastrointestinal bleeding was not stopping. I have not been able to work since July  and am currently awaiting for disability to be approved, but it is process which could take another 4-5 months. I am in need of financial assistance to help me with living expenses and pay for COBRA benefits of 540.00 monthly. I have no more income and I cannot access my retirement benefits until I am 65 which is 8 more years for me. In addition,  I have several doctors and specialists I need to continue seeing of which there are co-pays. I am starting on Humira which for now is covered by my last month of benefits. I have several other medications I take. I am seeking to raise around 5000 for all my expenses. It is my hope there will be generous and caring individuals who will read my story and help me in this time of need. I am only 57 and was prepared to teach until I was 65 and even go back to teach part-time after I retired. That dream will not come true now. But, maybe with help I can hope for another dream of get better to possibly teach in some part-time capacity. God Bless you all and thank you.
