For a quick overview, first, I have tried everything to get a loan but nobody gives me one and my credit is getting worse.
My credit was in upper 700s until Jan 2017. All fell apart. My husband and I just retired and shortly after my husband got pancreatic cancer and passed in 2012. So I went back to work. July 2015 I came down with cancer. I lived on my put away money expecting I could return to work after surgery and recovery. Then I found out I had to do chemo. With my money gone now, I started using credit cards still expecting to return to work after treatments and could repay them. Things got tough so I filed bankruptcy beginning of 2017 and it was closed May 2017. Still no income I began using my credit cards again expecting to return to work soon. Well, I guess I will not be returning to a full time position again.
Our whole lives we worked hard to have a good life during retirement but my husband died right after he retired so he never even got to enjoy it.
Like most families, you do not ever think this could happen to us. We did put money away in case something came to halt us for a few months. Nothing like what happened though.
Myself, I consider myself lucky to be here. I am lost and a little lonely without my other half but it was obviously not my time. I am just looking to get things paid so I do not have to spend my remaining years stressed and praying every night something good will come my way.
I will remain on my survivors benefits and disability the rest of my life. I have two part time jobs and if I can just get my bills paid up I know I will be able to get by on my jobs and benefits.
I had to have electrical work done. I had circuits turned off and it was a fire hazard in my home. I have a breathing machine and foot machine I need to have to live and I had trouble running them. I have to pay $2000.00 on July 15 for the work done.
My phone, internet, electricity, medical, and insurance are all backed up.
Now I have my income if I can get even I will be ok.
