If I was ever going to write a book, I would call it “You would not believe it if you tried”. My daughter and I were in a domestic violent situation that we finally got out of.
My ex-husband has gone above and beyond to try to financially ruin me and make me lose everything. He said I would lose everything just like he did. He would tell our daughter to start picking out what she can fit in a backpack because we were going to be living on the street.
My ex had someone get license plate numbers for anyone who stepped foot on my property, have a FBI background check run and take me to court.
Before the divorce we had little to no access to money, had minimal friends, and had to do what he said when he said to do it. He would time me coming home from work and then make my night a living hell if I was late according to him.
In court for the divorce and custody battle, we were ordered to have a parenting evaluation done – within 2 weeks – at a cost of $5.000 each. When I said I did not have the money the judge told me to put it on a credit card or take out a loan. I had no credit cards and bad credit because of stunts my ex did. Thankfully, my mom helped me. The evaluation was not even reviewed or used in the case. This is just one of many we were ordered to do.
After an extended period of court ordered supervision, he got unsupervised day visits. On unsupervised visit two, my daughter was physically assaulted by her father – and it was all caught on surveillance video, and he was arrested 2 days later and charged with aggravated assault.
While this was going on, I lost my car in a flash flood. My house went into pre-foreclosure. The judge said any one of us who did not come up with this large amount of money on his whim that he would put them in jail for contempt. I did what I had to do for my daughter.
I bought a used car and went through a federal program and saved my home. My daughter started college . . . my employer pays 70% of her tuition because I have been there for over 20 years. Somehow I was able to buy my daughter a used car.
I have reached the end of my rope. My HVAC system broke. The bolt holding the motor on the side broke and dropped down – tearing blades off the fan, and falling down and destroying everything in its path.
I have no air conditioning or heat. Due to heath conditions I need air conditioning and central heat.
The new system is about $9,000.00. I have exhausted my savings and run out options. According to the UDSA, to get the emergency repair loan I make $2000.00 too much a year.
I will pay this forward, and donate any leftover funds to a charity . . .
Anything helps, and thank you for reading my story. If you are able, please help me.
