Hello prospective donors. I am asking, with great humility, for financial help and support for a series of recent setbacks. I am a handicapped 61 year old female who is a live-in caregiver for my 90 year old father. After an emergency appendectomy on March 10, it was discovered I have an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer, goblet cell adenocarcinoma of the appendix. Only 1 in 2 million people get this appendeceal cancer, or 1000 persons a year in the US. On July 3rd, my auto was vandalized and two catalytic converters were stolen out of my 2004 Jeep. I am awaiting the Progressive insurance adjuster to finalize the claim. I rented a car while looking for another used vehicle but it was breaking the bank. I had just enough to purchase an inexpensive used car but it wiped us out. I am sure they will total my Jeep out. However, I am completely cashed out/overdrawn until the 1st of August and cannot afford the tag. I have no road worthy vehicle and am supposed to start chemotherapy through Northside Hospital in Atlanta in two weeks. I cannot afford a Lyft, have no medical insurance only MedicAid. Thus, I cannot fix the Jeep, nor get a new tag for the other car that would enable me to get to the upcoming doctor appointments. In addition to this stress (that does no favors for cancer), property taxes are due and I halted all ongoing house repairs that include purchasing a new AC condenser and plumbing leaks. All of this financial burden has stacked up and I literally have $21 to my name. I cannot afford groceries, prescriptions, gasoline, the Jeep repairs, the new tag, or utilities. My father (who actually turns 91 on 7/27) does not deserve to be denied the basic staples of life, much less a birthday cake due to my hardships. I am Begging Money so that I may buy some groceries and get a tag and get the Jeep towed to a garage. I only need enough to get through the next month. I have already canceled my first doctor appointment with the chemo oncologist due to the car situation- I have 8 other appointments upcoming in the next 3 weeks. My tag appointment is Monday morning, July 26th. I need milk and OJ for Dad at least. I don’t think I’ve ever been so desperate and felt so hopeless. I know I’m terminal with or without chemo but would like to stick around for a little while longer. Please donate to help me get through this rough patch. I’ve been in and out of ER three times this year already and am at the end of my rope. If you could see it in your heart to help a stranger who is trying her utmost level best to manage and cope with everyday challenges on top of a recent cancer diagnosis, I would be eternally grateful.
