I learned at a very young age how important school was and how it was pivotal for me to change my life. I was born and spent the first 17 years of my life in a small town in Missouri. I lived with my mother and younger brother. At 18 years old, I enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. I served four years active duty and two tours in Afghanistan. In 2014, I left the Marines with an honorable discharge and highly decorated to attend college.
In fall of 2014, I attended community college to work on getting my associate in arts. I graduated with my associate degree in May of 2016, then started the Police academy in June of 2016. I graduated from Police academy in December of 2016 and currently serving as a Police Officer. I started attending Park University in the summer of 2016 by taking online classes. I graduated from Park University in December of 2017 while working full time as Police officer.I am returning to school to get my Master’s in Public Administration to help further my career and go into non-profit work to help others.
I was never taught growing up financial responsibility. It is something I had to learn on my own and it has been quite the process. At 27 years old I have finally figured things out. But, in my youth I made terrible financial decisions and it is drastically affecting my life. I’m a husband and father now, I want to give my family the things I never had growing up. I will be better and I am trying like hell to be. But I made mistakes in my past and I am going to fix them. I’ve come too far to fail now. I’m going to do things right this time and I am asking for your help. Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated. If one day I finally reach that financial independence I promise to come back here and do the same for others. Thank you.
