My name is Michael and this is my story so far . 20 years ago I moved to Johnson City TN with the Home Depot. I spent a total of 16 yrs with them. I met my wife Nancy while I was at work. We were married in 2002. After a year she began showing signs of mental illness. After her grandmother passed she began to spiral. She is college educated and was very successful til then. She became unable to work due to her worsening condition. She has been diagnosed with severe social anxiety disorders. Recently she has become agoraphobic. I realized I couldn’t work so much and take care of her also. Subsequently I left home Depot in 2004 and found work at a local manufacturing company with a set schedule. I took a pay cut but managed to keep everything thing going until 3 yes ago. I was at work and started blacking out. I went to the hospital and had to have a blood transfusion due to 6 bleeding ulcers. Also I was diagnosed with severe Crohn’s disease among other gastro problems. Incidentally my mother passed away from colon cancer 5 yrs earlier. It was horrible to see. She also had Crohn’s but wasn’t diagnosed until it was too late. As a result I have to have colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures every year. I also couldn’t work. Doctors wouldn’t release me too go back to my job. So I applied for disability and received it 2 years ago. I receive 1550.00 a month, much less than I was used to bringing home. I have a mortgage of 657.00 a month. I’ll have it paid off in 4 years if I can hold out that long. When you are disabled you are allowed to make a certain amount of money each year. I was doing small odd jobs around my town to keep us afloat but my disease has taken a turn for the worse and I am barely able to keep house and take care of my wife. I have paid my mortgage this month but without being able to do extra work I have found myself in dire straits. My electric bill is 190.00. My water bill is 85.00. I’m also overdrawn 246.00 with my bank account. I don’t have any family to speak of that could help me nor does my wife. I have 40 dollars for groceries to get us by til the 30th when we receive a check. We also have 8 rescued cats that my wife has accumulated over the years. We love them dearly. I have never asked for charity before but desperation overruled my pride. If someone could help me with 800.00 it would set things right and give me space to figure something out. I would be very grateful for any help.
