My name is Jessica, and I am in my 30’s. I need an extensive amount of dental work due to excessively dry mouth from Sjögren’s syndrome. I was just diagnosed with it a few years ago….it is an autoimmune disease that causes a lot of issues including severe dry mouth. I have always taken some great care of my teeth, so this was very disappointing to find out. I need to get 2 crowns redone, a root canal, a tooth pulled, 2 fillings, and a bridge that needs to be replaced. This is a lot of dental work to have done (and I have anxiety during dental work), so they are going to put me under. It is going to cost me over $18,000, and I am currently not working because I am recovering from a mild brain injury. I am married, and I do have dental insurance (but the coverage is awful….my husband is in the military and I only have $1,300 of benefits towards all of the work I need done). The dentist I am using does not taking insurance. The office files with your insurance, but payment is required that day. I am stressing about this, since I already have so many medical bills because of the functional neurology treatment for my brain injury. I need to get this dental work done as soon as possible, since two of the teeth are bothering me daily (and to avoid infection or other issues).
Thank you for reading this, and I know God will get me through this stressful time. I really appreciate anything donated.
