Hello. My name is Lucia Mora and I am a single mother of a beautiful 1 year old and half girl. This is my story:
I learned how to drive because ever since I knew I was going to have a baby I didn’t want to carry her inside busses or trains due to the extreme cold weather (without mentioning the transportation delays due to icy roads).
I have had bought used cars because I had no credit at all. As a middle-poor class girl, my family taught me to stay away from credit cards since it would only make my life miserable. Little did I know, I was supposed to have credit history to purchase any own house in the future.
Well, going back to my first car. It was 2020 and I had a 2007 Nissan Murano that a friend of a friend was selling for 4K cash. The car looked beautiful and when I drove it, it felt good so I did not even ask a mechanic to check it and I simply bought it. That car died on me on the street more than once and when I tell you how infuriating was to spend money to fix one thing and another thing and then another thing… I should’ve just financed or leased a new car at that time. The problem was that I was still terrified of credit cards and debt (other than medical bills) so I acquired ANOTHER used vehicle. Honda Accord 2004. This vehicle didn’t need fixing and it was from a distant relative (which made me feel less preoccupied). On a rainy day, the car slipped due to old wheels (they never mentioned that my car needed new wheels) and I luckily didn’t lose my life. My daughter wasn’t with me on the car so that was a total miracle.

So, After making the decision of buying a new car or at least a certified pre-owned one, my life became easier and I finally worried less about paying just to get an used car fixed and just making sure to pay my installments on time. I felt happy to get a certified used car.
Not even 6 months with my “new”car and I get into an accident (caused by a 74 year old man who did not want to wait to merge on oncoming traffic) on the Saw Mill River Parkway – Ardsley.
My car seemed TOTALED and I prayed for my insurance to fix it but they just confirmed the bad news. It was indeed totaled.
SANTANDER was the bank who gave me the loan but they demanded way more money than what the car was valued at. Even tho THANKFULLY I do have GAP insurance, this will help settle the difference of what the car was valued and what they demanded me to pay them for the loan but it has also left me JOBLESS, MOTIONLESS and with a bit of PTSD.
I have a rental car that will expire on 06/10/2022
I would like to get 5k-10k to pay the down payment to get another certified used car or -if possible- a new car.
If you would like to hire me instead of giving away your money, I would gladly accept. I have experience doing clerical work and customer service but after the pandemic I was just doing UBER eats, LYFT, SHIPT and GRUBHUB. Without a car, I am JOBLESS.
